Abstract
Project summary – Administrative Core DE-INBRE’s Administrative Core (ADMIN) coordinates the resources needed for the DE-INBRE network to operate efficiently, runs our Student Research Program (SRP) which provides undergraduates with research experience, organizes professional development training for students and faculty, and maintains compliance with all regulations. ADMIN’s leadership team is comprised of the Principal Investigator (PD/PI), Program Coordinator (PC), the Professional Development and Education (PDE) Director who administers the Student Research Program (SRP), Evaluation Program (EP) Director who evaluates the effectiveness of all DE-INBRE programs, and institutional leads from each DE-INBRE network partner institution (NPI). This team is bolstered by staff who have expertise in grant, SRP, and project administration at both UD (the lead institution) and each partner institution. Collectively, these personnel, along with the leads of the Data Science (DSC), Developmental Research Project Program (DRPP) and Centralized Shared Resources (CSR) cores, make up the DE-INBRE Executive Committee (EC). The EC meets at least monthly to ensure that the diverse perspectives/needs of network partners are voiced and operating procedures are followed. Thus, DE-INBRE activities bring broad benefits to organizations as diverse as a community college (DTCC), a Historically Black College/University (HBCU) and Primarily Undergraduate Institution (PUI) (DSU), a pediatric research hospital (NCH), a large community hospital system (CCHS), and a Research-intensive flagship university (UD).
