Because Moonbase is a free, view-only informational portal, we collect a very limited amount of personal data. We collect information in two ways:

4. Payment Processing (Stripe)

When you make a research donation through Moonbase, payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not collect, store, or process your payment card details — all card data is handled exclusively by Stripe within their PCI-compliant infrastructure and never touches our servers.

By making a donation, you acknowledge that Stripe's Privacy Policy (stripe.com/privacy) applies to the payment data you provide. Stripe may store your payment method and transaction history as a licensed payment processor.

Donated funds are processed by Stripe on Moonbase's behalf and disbursed to the intended university or research institution. We retain a record of each transaction (amount, award, university, timestamp) in our own database for accounting and disbursement purposes.

5. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We only disclose personal information in the following limited circumstances:

• Service Providers: We may share data with trusted third-party vendors who provide essential infrastructure (e.g., secure cloud hosting, analytics providers). These service providers are bound by contractual obligations to keep personal information confidential and use it only for the purposes for which we disclose it to them.
• Legal Compliance: We may disclose your information to comply with any court order, law, or legal process, including to respond to any government or regulatory request.

9. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Moonbase is designed for university researchers, academics, and professionals. Our Service is not intended for children under 18 years of age. If we learn we have collected or received personal information from a child under 18 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information immediately.
