Abstract

PROJECT SUMMARY/ABSTRACT The Administrative and Data Management (Admin) Core ensures that the Indiana University School of Medicine Purdue University TaRget Enablement to Accelerate Therapy Development for Alzheimer's Disease (IUSM-Purdue TREAT-AD) Center achieves its overall strategic mission as well as specific project aims and milestones. The Admin Core oversees all administrative and integrated scientific functions of the TREAT-AD Center and will execute its duties with guidance from a Center Steering Committee (CSC) and External Advisory Board (EAB). The Admin Core will provide leadership and oversight in the following key areas: (1) Input to project portfolio recommendations and priorities for advanced target validation and drug discovery; (2) Technical strategy for implementation of TREAT-AD Center objectives and the integrated management of Core activities to deliver on project milestones, including functional coordination with other centers and collaborators; (3) High- level resource decisions and trade-offs, removing bottlenecks, and implementing alternative strategies when necessary to ensure success; (4) Regular communication and input to the CSC and EAB; and (5) Ownership of timely Target Enablement Package (TEP) assembly and distribution. Further, the Admin Core will ensure that discoveries made in one area of the TREAT-AD Center will benefit the entire Center, leading to efficiencies in time and cost. Finally, the Admin Core will execute its overarching strategic management, evaluation, and fiduciary duties through biweekly Admin Meetings and select meetings with the NIH, EAB, and CSC, along with other organized administrative and scientific meetings of TREAT-AD Center investigators, staff, collaborators, and advisors.
