Abstract

The Administrative Core will oversee the overall Program Project, both the overall program management aspects and its scientific aspects. A key Core responsibility will be to facilitate communication and collaboration between the Scientific Projects and Cores within the Program Project, and the Administrative Core will act as a central hub to which the Projects and Research Cores will report progress toward the Specific Aims, budgeting, data sharing and communications. The Administrative Core will be responsible for the fiscal accountability of the Program Project, in particular budgeting, accounting, effort reporting, and sub-contract management, working with the Internal Advisory Committee (IAC) as to the proper allocation of resources for the projects as needed with respect to budgeted items; relevant issues will be discussed and prioritized at biweekly Zoom meetings which the Administrative Core will organize. Management responsibilities of the Core, in conjunction with the IAC, will include prioritization and allocation of equipment, samples, personnel, and effort across all scientific ventures. The Administrative Core will also be responsible for facilitating interactions with the External Advisory Committee (EAC), as well as collaborations between this project, other relevant NIAID Projects, and other relevant external radiation countermeasure programs. The Core will organize the Annual Program Project Retreat, as well as the coupled Young Radiation Scientist Training Program. The Administrative Core will coordinate patent applications and maintain intellectual property protections and will coordinate with the Technology Transfer offices of the participating institutions to facilitate any requests for licensure or sharing of new technologies. Finally, the Administrative Core will maintain the Program Project Website.
