Abstract
Administrative Core Summary The current proposal, MUCOR-ADVANCE, presents a synergistic and innovative amalgamation of basic mycology and infectious diseases expertise that is ideally aligned to NIH programmatic priorities. To effectively manage this integrated research program, we have developed a proven Administrative Core to interact with each program component and to facilitate collaboration, research efficiency, and dissemination of new discoveries. The administrative design will afford efficient coordination among investigators and Project components, including Projects 1–3, the Genomic/transcriptomics and Clinical Cores, and the Scientific Advisory Board. The Administrative Core will provide a supportive structure to ensure the accomplishment of all Project goals by 1) managing the project financial and personnel resources; 2) providing support for ongoing coordination and integration of the Cores, Research Projects, and Advisory Team; 3) enhancing training by facilitating exchange of personnel among different laboratories; and 4) ensuring quality improvement through monitoring of benchmark metrics and ongoing optimization. Thus, the Administrative Core will support the overall Project to inform, coordinate, monitor and afford timely completion of all research goals.
