Abstract

PROJECT SUMMARY: CORE A Core A is the Administrative Core for the PPG and all of its components. This PPG includes outstanding scientists within Washington University in St. Louis, and in Kingston Ontario, Dublin, University of Michigan, University of Colorado and Yale University. These investigators are tightly focused on the genetics, genomics and biology of von Willebrand factor (VWF) and mechanisms causing von Willebrand Disease (VWD). Aim 1 is to effectively handle the administrative interactions between the 4 projects and 3 cores, to provide budgetary oversight, to designate an Internal Advisory Committee, and to craft an External Advisory Board is the grant is awarded. Aim 2 will be directed to integrate research related efforts among the Cores and Projects, provide support for the authentication of regulatory compliance across all scientific research efforts following best practices and the requirements of Washington University, and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and collaborate with Core B on the dissemination of data and information to the public through several mechanisms, including the Zimmerman Analytic Platform.
