Abstract

PROJECT SUMMARY This proposal seeks to connue to build pediatric clinical trials capacity in South Dakota through the South Dakota Pediatric Clinical Trials Network. The Avera Health system and partners are ideally suited to conduct pediatric clinical trials that specifically reach rural, froner, and American Indian populaons in South Dakota. Due to vast distance and lack of qualified providers, rural populaons, especially children, face significant barriers to access to quality care and research opportunies. Even with these challenges, the SoDakPCTN team has consistently engaged rural populaons and clinic partners to find creave soluons to implement clinical trials in community-based sengs. We will build on our exisng collaboraons to grow pediatric research across hospital and community sengs in South Dakota. This project has three aims: (1) Develop, conduct, and disseminate findings from mulcenter clinical trials research. (2) Build clinical trial capacity at the clinical site and (3) Engage interested community members, non-profit organizaons, and professional sociees to enhance ECHO ISPCTN clinical trial impact, transferability, rigor, and feasibility.
