Abstract

Enter the text here that is the new abstract information for your application. This section must be no longer than 30 lines of text. The Louisiana Biomedical Research Network (LBRN) seeks to renew its INBRE application with a focus on sustaining and enhancing biomedical research across Louisiana while prioritizing research capacity building and undergraduate student training. Operational strategies, including bi-annual retreats and Core Liaison Officers (CLOs), have been implemented to foster collaboration and support individual faculty needs at primarily undergraduate institutions (PUIs). Proposed enhancements include expanding PUIs, extending undergraduate research experiences, and securing funding for the summer research program. Additionally, plans to develop a virtual training platform and organize a Hackathon aim to enrich skills and foster innovation within the biomedical workforce in Louisiana. The specific aims include quantifying progress and accomplishments, enhancing organizational infrastructure, and fostering collaboration within the LBRN. Overall, LBRN plays a crucial role in advancing biomedical research in Louisiana by providing funding, training, and support to PUIs.
