Abstract
Immunology and Informatics Core (IIC) Abstract The Immunology and Informatics Core (IIC) will provide critical support for Research Project Leaders (RPLs) by allowing them to collect and analyze flow cytometry and omics data using advanced technologies and methods. The core will provide access to a cutting-edge spectral flow cytometer, the first of this instrument class at OUHSC, and train RPLs and their laboratories in how to prepare, run, and analyze samples using this instrument. The IIC will provide informatics support and training opportunities for RPLs and members of their labs through the “Omics for the Biomedical Researcher” workshop as well as by employing a fully trained Bioinformatics Analyst. Specific areas of support provided to RPLs by the IIC include pre-project consultation, training in sample preparation and wet-bench sample processing, immunophenotyping, and bioinformatics analysis and training, post project data deposition, manuscript preparation, and assistance with future grant applications. As the core develops, it is expected that the IIC will be used as a resource by other investigators at the institution that want to incorporate immunology and informatics into their research programs.
