Abstract

PROJECT SUMMARY The genomics of Alzheimer Disease is complex and evidence to date suggests that different ancestry groups have distinct genetic factors that influence risk. In this project, we will perform multiple statistical analyses of generated genetic data in African American, African, and Hispanic/Latinx populations to identify genetic factors that are distinct within those groups. We will develop and apply new methods for identifying regulatory elements and leveraging admixed chromosomes that are features of these populations. Finally, we will summarize results through polygenic and pathway analyses to identify specific molecular mechanisms that harbor genetic variants influence Alzheimer risk in each of these populations.
