Abstract
ABSTRACT: GLNARCH Administrative Core This Great Lakes Native American Research Centers for Health (GLNARCH) application incorporates novel approaches to build upon established partnerships that create a fertile environment for health research and training. The proposed administrative core will be housed at the Great Lakes Inter-Tribal Council (GLITC) in partnership with the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) and University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM). GLNARCH objectives also require coordination across a broad geographic region which corresponds to the overlapping GLITC/Bemidji services areas. This region is historically underfunded (see map in Overall Component) relative to the southern Great Lakes in which larger academic institutions are based. The following GLNARCH administrative core aims will enable the team to both expand and mature existing partnerships. Each component of GLNARCH draws upon our established best practices which will benefit from culturally responsive coordination. Specifically, GLNARCH administrative core provides integrating support for the GLNARCH components guided by the overall theme of “learn something every day” (gikendan gegoo endaso giizhig).
