Abstract

Alcohol researchers have long sought to disentangle the precise relationship between intoxication and sexual encounters. Examining the relationships between intoxication and sexual health have been important for public health researchers in developing effective prevention and intervention programs to counter a number of serious alcohol-related problems. In order to assist the development of more effective intervention programs, but also importantly further our understanding of the relational processes that are involved within these intoxicated sexual encounters, the aim of this qualitative research proposal is to identify and analyze the key elements operating by conducting in-depth qualitative interviews with 200 young adults (18-25).
