Abstract

Modified Project Summary/Abstract Section ADMINISTRATIVE CORE – PROJECT SUMMARY / ABSTRACT The overall goal of the Administrative Core (Admin) is to coordinate the development and high-impact functioning of the Center for Advancing Precision Neural Circuit-Based Rehabilitation (Neuro-PRECISE) at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). In order to have a significant impact, the Neuro-PRECISE must substantially integrate the voice and expertise of People with Lived Experience (PWLE) across all levels of the center (i.e., leadership, advisory committees, administration, research and resource cores, etc.), as well as disseminate critical research findings across the domain of rehabilitation research and to a national audience. Admin leadership will oversee numerous individual component functions to ensure a cohesive program that aligns with the needs of our research community while materially contributing to the Medical Rehabilitation Research Center (MRRC) network. The PI will lead the Admin Core and manage all necessary functions with input and assistance from the Executive Committee (comprised of the PI as Chair, Core Leads, Evaluation Director, and Chair of the Community Advisory Board), who have expertise and experience in precision neural circuit-based rehabilitation (PN), the Community Advisory Board (comprised of PWLE, patient advocates, and service providers), and the External Advisory Board (comprised of 4 eminent scientists who represent the broad PN research community and provide objective oversight, evaluation, and strategic interactions to optimize the Center’s impact). Admin will integrate visionary leadership, sound operations and fiscal management; coordinate with NIH/NCMRR program staff and other funded Medical Rehabilitation Research Centers; and implement a multifaceted evaluation plan to ensure programmatic success. Our work is organized under these Specific Aims: 1) Leadership, Operations, and Fiscal Management; 2) Strategic Planning and Communications; 3) Program Evaluation; and 4) Pilot Project Program.
