Abstract
PROJECT SUMMARY/ABSTRACT: ADMINISTRATIVE CORE The objective of the Administrative Core (AC) is to support the overall execution and advance interactions and impact of this P50 Center, “Translation of the FMR1 Premutation Phenotypes Across the Lifespan.” The overarching aim is to advance understanding of the clinical phenotypes and underlying mechanisms associated with FXTAS and FXAND through the application of a developmental approach examining these conditions across the lifespan. Two inter-related projects will represent discovery across multiple levels of analyses, from genes and molecules to circuits, motor, cognition, communication, hearing, auditory processing, and mental health, and the AC will provide the administrative infrastructure necessary to support and advance those discovery efforts and amplify the Center beyond each respective project’s contribution. There are three aims of the AC: (1) oversee Center activities, advance synergy, facilitate communication and impact across projects; (2) implement and manage shared resources across the research projects; and (3) manage the budget for the overall project with oversight for the individual projects and administrative core budgets.
