Abstract

CSCMI DATA MANAGEMENT CORE SUMMARY The Data Management and Biostatistics Core (“Data Core”) provides data management, statistical, and bioinformatics support for the Center for the Study of Complex Malaria in India (CSCMi). The Core collects and manages data from all our participating study sites, ensuring uniformity of procedures and high data quality. Data from our field- and hospital-based epidemiology projects and vector survey projects are stored in a bespoke REDCap database and in Google Cloud instruments designed and managed by the Data Core. Data capture, entry, and upload to the REDCap database are implemented on electronic tablet hardware supported by the Data Core, via digital forms designed by the Data Core, guided by researcher needs. Expertise and support for statistical and bioinformatics analysis, manuscript development and proof reading, and data mapping/visualization are also part of Data Core services. Lastly, the Data Core is responsible for the rapid release, to ClinEpiDB, GenBank, VEuPathDB, and the broader scientific community, of datasets (‘omic, epidemiologic, code), analysis tools, and other resources generated in adherence to the requirements and timelines described in the Data Management and Sharing Plan, but also in accordance with Government of India guidelines.
