Abstract

The Population Research And Clinical Trials In CancEr (PRACTICE) Shared Resource Core brings expertise in oncology, epidemiology, community-engaged research, behavioral science and health outcomes from investigators at Meharry Medical College/Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center/Tennessee State University Cancer Partnership (MVTCP) institutions with an overarching mission of increasing community engagement in research studies across the cancer care continuum. This will serve to improve health outcomes for those at risk for or living with a diagnosis of cancer. The PRACTICE Shared Resource Core will support clinical and population-based science research in three thematic domains focused on decreasing differences in cancer outcomes across populations: 1) prevention and early detection; 2) interventional trials and observational studies during and following cancer treatment; and 3) implementation of healthcare interventions to improve cancer care delivery
