Abstract

ABSTRACT – Data Management and Analysis Core (DMAC) The Data Management and Analysis Core (DMAC) will support the STAR cohort, including the Research Projects and other Cores, by providing expertise in data management, study coordination, and data analysis, under the leadership of Core Directors Drs. Elizabeth Topper and Daniel Westreich. The DMAC will (Aim 1) maintain and expand our web-based data management system which was created for STAR during its inaugural funding (STAR 1.0) and will be primarily responsible for consolidating, harmonizing, monitoring, cleaning, and distributing study data. The DMAC will also (Aim 2) coordinate overall study communications and meetings between the STAR Cores, Projects, and advisory groups, and continue to maintain the two study websites (www.starstudy.org and the associated password-protected administrative website), with the latter site serving as a hub for study communication, review of concept sheets and manuscripts, and tracking of STAR-linked projects, grants, and investigators (including early-stage investigators [ESIs] and Emerging Research Pilot [ERP] recipients). Finally, building upon our experience supporting STAR in its inaugural funding (STAR 1.0) and other multicenter prospective cohort studies, we will (Aim 3) provide epidemiological, statistical, and analytical expertise to both STAR Research Projects along with science developed by other STAR investigators, external collaborators, and ESIs. We will also refine and develop new epidemiologic and statistical methodology relevant to STAR’s linked Research Projects, including modeling the effectiveness of potential cardiovascular health and sexual/ reproductive health interventions in real world populations of women of reproductive age as a “bench to bedside to intervention” approach.
