Abstract

PROJECT SUMMARY Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) are the leading cause of death in the United States, and current therapies are hindered by inefficient delivery methods, high systemic off-target exposure, and prohibitive costs, particularly for gene therapies. Corami Biotech’s platform combines a minimally invasive epicardial delivery device (EpiCor™) and a tunable hydrogel (GelCor™) which together localize therapeutic to the heart leading to significantly lower effective dose of gene therapy compared to systemic delivery while minimizing off-target expression.
