Abstract

The goal of the RADx Innovation Funnel for Health Technologies is to increase the speed of development, commercialization, and implementation of new technologies to address urgent health needs. The Validation Center is being tasked to provide analytical and clinical validation support to this RADx effort, which seeks to accelerate the validation and prototyping of up to ten NIH health technology development initiatives. The Validation Center requires specialized and comprehensive technical and clinical capabilities in verification and validation across a wide range of biomedical commercialization domains to NIH translational activities. These may include diagnostics for infectious and chronic diseases, such as hepatitis B and Alzheimer’s disease, sensors to monitor conditions such as maternal and fetal health, neural stimulation technologies to treat nervous system disorders, or other health-related technologies to address emergent needs identified by NIBIB. The target technologies will primarily be intended for use at the point of care or at home.
