Abstract
The NICHD Fetal Growth Study (NFGS) was a multicenter prospective observational study to establish a standard for normal fetal growth (velocity) and size for gestational age in the U.S. population, to create an individualized standard for optimal fetal growth, and to improve the accuracy of fetal weight estimation. This study recruited 2,400 healthy, non-obese, low risk pregnant women and 600 obese pregnant women (for a total of 3,000 women) from U.S. clinical centers. Under this task order the Government requires repository services for the 115,905 human biospecimens (Serum, RBC, Placenta, DNA etc.) generated in the NFGS study.
