Abstract
The 2026 Principal Investigator Meeting for the National Science Foundation Geosciences Open Science Ecosystem (GEO OSE) program will bring together GEO OSE researchers to collectively examine the current state of open science. Participants will identify opportunities to improve reproducible, transparent, and collaborative practices in the geosciences. Open science practices build public trust, ensure accountability, promote collaboration, and advance United States global leadership in the Earth, atmospheric, and ocean sciences. Participants will assess how current GEO OSE projects are contributing to and advancing the principles of open science, as well as identify opportunities for potential new collaborations. This award reflects NSF's statutory mission and has been deemed worthy of support through evaluation using the Foundation's intellectual merit and broader impacts review criteria.
