Description
THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes consistent with FAR Part 10.002(b)(iii). It does not constitute a Request for Quote (RFQ) or a promise to issue an RFQ in the future. This RFI does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service. Responders are advised that all costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the interested party�s expense. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFQ, if any is issued. Description The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Panama City Division (NSWC.PCD) requests information on existing Emergency Air Breathing (EAB) respirators used to provide breathing air for crew members aboard United States Navy submarines when atmospheres are classified as being Immediately Dangerous to Life or Health. The EAB shall include a full facepiece with a speaking diaphragm, an adjustable head harness, a second-stage demand regulator, a connection manifold with integral belt clip, an 8-foot air supply hose, and Voice amplification device. Must also include a Bag Valve Mask Adapter and 25-foot air supply hose, if required. The EAB must be able to connect to existing breathing air supply manifolds installed on submarines which utilize �-inch male and female Schrader-type twist-lock fittings (Foster SHD10 quick-disconnect plug, or equal, and Foster SHD3003 quick-disconnect socket, or equal). The EAB will normally be in a stowed configuration on the platform, easily located, and operated by the user. Responses Interested parties are asked to submit capability statements to james.i.fulton2.civ@us.navy.mil no later than 30 days after posting of this RFI. Proprietary information MUST BE CLEARLY MARKED. All submissions become Government property and will not be returned. Submission administrative information should include company name, mailing address, CAGE, phone number, and e-mail of the designated point of contact. The submission of technical information should adequately describe the capability provided. Questions Questions shall be submitted in writing by e-mail to james.i.fulton2.civ@us.navy.mil or theresa.r.hansen.civ@us.navy.mil Summary This RFI will be used to identify potential sources to provide Emergency Air Breathing respirators or components for a shipboard firefighting response or other event requiring respiratory protection in an Immediately Dangerous to Life and Health situation.
