Description
The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), PMA-265 intends to award a sole source, firm-fixed price (FFP) stand-alone contract to DRS Systems, Inc. (SYSCO), for supplies and services associated with the Deployable Flight Incident Recorder System (DFIRS) Mid-Life Upgrade (MUP), as known as Voice and Aircraft Data Recorder (VADR) for the F/A-18E/F and EA-18G Type/Model/Series (T/M/S) aircraft. The scope of work will include production of DFIRS MUP B-Kit Weapon Replaceable Assemblies (WRAs), Data Bus Interface Unit (DBIU) and Deployable Flight Incident Recorder Unit (DFIRU) in support of the F/A-18 E/F and EA-18G aircraft programs. The period of performance is anticipated to begin May 2027 and will be 12 months. DRS Technologies Canada Ltd. is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of the F/A-18 DFIRS, and as such possesses the requisite technical data, knowledge, and special skills regarding the design and operation (including aircraft data collection and homing beacon) to meet the Navy�s requirements without causing unacceptable delays. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS AND NO COMPETITIVE SOLICITATION WILL BE ISSUED. This synopsis is for informational purposes only. This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis under the authority permitting other than full and open competition is Title 10, U.S. Code 3204(a)(1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.103-1, �Only one responsible source and no other supplies or series will satisfy agency requirements�. There is no commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation, make an award or awards, or be responsible for any money expended by interested parties before award of a contract for the effort described above.
