Description

The purpose of the NCI Pathway to Independence Award (K99/R00) program is to facilitate a timely transition of talented postdoctoral researchers with a research and/or clinical doctorate degree from mentored, postdoctoral research positions to independent, tenure-track or equivalent faculty positions. The program will provide independent NCI research support during this transition in order to help awardees to launch competitive, independent research careers.

Eligibility

Nonprofits that do not have a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education; Public and State controlled institutions of higher education; Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education; County governments; Private institutions of higher education; State governments; Public housing authorities/Indian housing authorities; Others (see text field entitled "Additional Information on Eligibility" for clarification); Small businesses; Native American tribal organizations (other than Federally recognized tribal governments); Special district governments; Independent school districts; Native American tribal governments (Federally recognized); City or township governments; For profit organizations other than small businesses
