Description

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Research Education Program supports research education activities in the mission areas of the NIH. The overarching goal of the Research Education program is to:Support educational activities that complement and/or enhance training of a workforce to meet the nation's biomedical, behavioral and clinical research needs;Help recruit individuals with specific specialty or disciplinary backgrounds to research careers in biomedical, behavioral and clinical sciences; andFoster a better understanding of biomedical, behavioral and clinical research and its implications.

Eligibility

County governments; Special district governments; Independent school districts; Public housing authorities/Indian housing authorities; Native American tribal organizations (other than Federally recognized tribal governments); State governments; City or township governments; Others (see text field entitled "Additional Information on Eligibility" for clarification); Nonprofits that do not have a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education; Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education; Small businesses; Private institutions of higher education; Native American tribal governments (Federally recognized); For profit organizations other than small businesses; Public and State controlled institutions of higher education
