Description

This announcement invites applications for basic research projects on chemical warfare agents, toxic industrial chemicals, and pesticides that have primary or secondary effects on the nervous system. Chemical threats are toxic compounds that could be used in a terrorist attack or accidentally released from industrial production, storage, or shipping. Projects supported by this NOFO are expected to generate data that elucidate mechanisms of toxicity of these agents, possible new manifestations of toxic exposures, and potential new targets for therapeutic development.

Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education; Public and State controlled institutions of higher education; City or township governments; State governments; Special district governments; Native American tribal organizations (other than Federally recognized tribal governments); Small businesses; Public housing authorities/Indian housing authorities; Nonprofits that do not have a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education; For profit organizations other than small businesses; Others (see text field entitled "Additional Information on Eligibility" for clarification); County governments; Private institutions of higher education; Native American tribal governments (Federally recognized); Independent school districts
