Description

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Research Education Program supports research education activities in the mission areas of the NIH. The overarching goal of the Research Education program is to:Support educational activities that complement and/or enhance training of a workforce to meet the nation's biomedical, behavioral and clinical research needs;Help recruit individuals with specific specialty or disciplinary backgrounds to research careers in biomedical, behavioral and clinical sciences; andFoster a better understanding of biomedical, behavioral and clinical research and its implications.

Eligibility

Native American tribal organizations (other than Federally recognized tribal governments); For profit organizations other than small businesses; County governments; Public and State controlled institutions of higher education; Public housing authorities/Indian housing authorities; Private institutions of higher education; Native American tribal governments (Federally recognized); City or township governments; Small businesses; Special district governments; Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education; Nonprofits that do not have a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education; Independent school districts; Others (see text field entitled "Additional Information on Eligibility" for clarification); State governments
