Description

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Research Education Program supports research education activities in the mission areas of the NIH. The overarching goal of the Research Education program is to:Support educational activities that complement and/or enhance training of a workforce to meet the nation's biomedical, behavioral and clinical research needs;Help recruit individuals with specific specialty or disciplinary backgrounds to research careers in biomedical, behavioral and clinical sciences; andFoster a better understanding of biomedical, behavioral and clinical research and its implications.

Eligibility

Native American tribal organizations (other than Federally recognized tribal governments); Independent school districts; State governments; Native American tribal governments (Federally recognized); Nonprofits that do not have a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education; For profit organizations other than small businesses; Private institutions of higher education; Public housing authorities/Indian housing authorities; Public and State controlled institutions of higher education; City or township governments; Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education; County governments; Special district governments; Small businesses; Others (see text field entitled "Additional Information on Eligibility" for clarification)
