Abstract

SUBJECTS & SAMPLES CORE - PROJECT SUMMARY This research program project grant (PPG) is designed to provide much-needed insight into pediatric immunology. A unifying feature of the research approach for all three Projects of the PPG is the utilization of samples and associated meta data from diverse human subject cohorts, each one distinct and carefully selected to achieve the objectives of the Projects. Given the prominence of these cohorts to the PPG, we have designed this Subjects & Samples Core to provide centralized oversight of all aspects of human subjects studies, from regulatory administration to enrollment of participants to handling of biological samples to management of demographic and clinical meta data. This core will be responsible for overseeing these and other related tasks and for disseminating timely communications about the progress of these human cohorts to the other Cores and individual Projects across of the PPG, thereby stimulating discussion and enhancing synergy between investigators.
