Yale-SCORE Leadership Administrative Core

LEADERSHIP ADMINISTRATIVE CORE ABSTRACT The purpose of the Leadership Administrative Core is to provide overall interdisciplinary and translational scientific planning and coordination for the Yale-SCORE as it develops therapeutics for the treatment of alcohol use disorder (AUD) that are responsive to sex differences. The Core provides structure and resources to: manage the ongoing conceptual integration of Center personnel to capitalize on synergies and translational opportunities for the Yale-SCORE; support the development of new collaborative research within the Yale- SCORE and with other Yale centers, and SCOREs at other institutions; organize regular planning meetings to promote dynamic exchange among investigators regarding new scientific findings and their implications for medications development for AUD; and, convene and coordinate the functions of the Internal and External Advisory Boards. The goal for the Advisory Boards is to provide valuable insights, feedback, and recommendations to ensure the Center's scientific rigor, relevance, and impact. The Core provides fiscal and administrative management for all components; participates in evaluation of applications for pilot projects in conjunction with the Career Enhancement Core; participates in the training, education, and mentorship activities outlined in the Career Enhancement Core; oversees the distribution of research-related resources provided in the Resource Support Core; provides input into the design of the core assessment battery to maximize the scientific yield across Yale-SCORE Projects and Pilots, other Yale Centers, and SCOREs at other institutions; and helps to disseminate our findings through educational outreach to local, regional, and national audiences of health care professionals and consumers. Finally, we continue to build our presence as an institutional, regional, and national resource to invigorate and galvanize the study of sex differences focused on alcohol science.
