Abstract
Program Director/Principal Investigator (Last, First, Middle): Stergiou, Nick Project Summary The Quantitative Analysis Research Core (QuARC) emerges as a strategic evolution of the Nonlinear Analysis Core (NONAN), expanding its scope to provide comprehensive quantitative methods necessary for innovative research in human movement variability to treat and prevent motor-related disorders. This transition, driven by MOVCENTR user feedback and our commitment to adaptability, broadens our analytical capabilities beyond nonlinear time series analysis to encompass a wider range of quantitative methods. QuARC will be a unique and nimble resource that supports MOVCENTR investigators through expertise across a broad spectrum of quantitative approaches, including advanced statistical modeling and machine learning, all while retaining NONAN's core competencies. The aims of QuARC are: 1) Expand and maintain a comprehensive suite of quantitative analysis resources to examine human movement variability data, supporting interdisciplinary studies conducted by academic and industrial researchers with the goal of treating and preventing motor-related disorders; 2) Serve as an advanced training and mentoring center for all MOVCENTR investigators, including students and postdoctoral fellows, in applying diverse quantitative methods to human movement data; and 3) Provide expertise for quantitative analysis of human movement data, establishing strong collaborations with researchers at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, throughout Nebraska, the Great Plains IDEA-CTR network, and beyond, while expanding partnerships with healthcare, sports technology, and biotechnology firms. This diversification will increase the QuARC’s impact, visibility, and sustainability, positioning MOVCENTR at the forefront of quantitative analysis in human movement variability research.
