Abstract
PROJECT SUMMARY The new Data Science and AI core will provide biostatistics, informatics, and artificial intelligence (AI) support to NEI-supported researchers at OHSU. This core will expand existing biostatistical expertise and support to provide help with data, informatics, and AI based projects. Biostatistical support includes study design, preparation of grant applications, development of statistical methods & analyses, and editing of manuscripts' descriptions of statistical methods and results. Informatics support includes access to electronic health record (EHR) data sources, consulting on quantitative and qualitative research, and preparation of preliminary data for grant applications. AI support includes support for the development, validation, and translation of AI models as well as access to high performance computer servers to run the AI models. The core will meet the evolving data and modeling needs of NEI-supported researchers at OHSU.
