Abstract

Project Summary The Administrative and Research Support Core (Core A) provides the infrastructure that allows CDHA faculty affiliates, pre-doctoral students, post-graduate fellows and academic staff to carry out research and training on health and aging. Core A ensures the smooth functioning of other CDHA cores, maintains a stable and effective system for the governance and administration of the center, ensures an efficient administration of center resources, and offers exceptional support for the preparation and submission of grant applications as well as the management of internal and external awards. It also supports staff who coordinate research events and training activities and promote the dissemination of research findings and relevant information about sources of extramural funding. Core A’s research and grant administration services ultimately serve to enhance the productivity of researchers within the Center. The Administrative Core supports the overall mission of the Center, advancing the scientific understanding of population aging and health, by freeing CDHA affiliates to focus their efforts on their research and by supporting development, training, and dissemination activities.
